Walk into the arena
and line up in a row facing the judge and set up your horse.
When it is your turn, walk towards the judge in a straight line (
see pattern ).
When you reach about six feet from the judge, stop and set up your
horse.
The judge will walk around your horse as if to judge for
conformation class.
When the judge passes the tail of your horse drop your lead under
your horse's jaw
and move to the side opposite the judge staying constantly out of
the judge's view.
When the judge returns to his original position in front of your
horse, drop the lead line under your horse's
jaw again and move back to your original position.
Upon acknowledgement from the judge, do a 180 degree turn by
PUSHING your horse AWAY FROM YOU doing a pivot turn.
Trot back to where you started in a straight line PAST where you
lined up. Stop.
Do a 180 degree turn exactly as above, by
PUSHING your horse AWAY FROM YOU doing a pivot turn.
Walk your horse forward to exactly where
you started and set your horse up.
If it sounds confusing, practice using a tree as the judge...PS,
don't tell the judge we called him a tree. |
