A Wizards Spell Winstons Dartanian
aka " Dart "
Colt born 4-28-10 at 8:05 pm
Son of Desiree and Winston
( We're retaining this colt at this time. )

There are very few Gypsy Horses actually used for "performance".
Having sold our last fabulous gelding, Bailey, we decided to retain Dartanian
for future sale after we bring him along in his training too.
HIs price will be substantially higher as he is trained and shown.
If you HAVE TO have him before then, contact us and we'll see if you catch us in a weak moment.  :)

Last of the April babies FINALLY here....... I have watched this mare for two weeks.  Nothing.
I'm getting anxious.  Vet checked and said " Some in the clinic are also late. Just wait. "
Mare's been out in the backyard close to the house all day every day for me to keep a constant vigil....
Low on groceries around here as I didn't leave.  :)
Then in the stall every night all night with the monitor on....little sleep for me with all the barn noises.

Last evening all chores were done and after checking on her at 7:00 pm
I decided to watch TV from 7 - 8 and then bring her in.
There was a glare on the TV screen so I closed ONE of the blinds....
....the one where I couldn't see the mare who was 20 feet from where I was watching TV.

I went out at 8 pm with halter in hand to bring her in.....
....and there he was still wearing a lot of his sack.
Not twenty feet from where I was watching TV !  NICE ONE MARE !!

But you can see he was VERY VERY worth the wait.

Couldn't resist these two three day old pics of him being silly directly below:

I laughed and called these "Where's the spigot ?"
Babies are so entertaining.  :)

Now to the his baby pics below:

Dart is only a few hours old in these pictures.
But you can already tell what his future can hold  !

Dartanian was the Fourth of the Three Musketeers.
The real correct spelling is "d'Artagnan".
But since this boy is clearly headed for the show ring over and over,
I decided to spell it in a way the announcer wouldn't screw up.  :)

" Mom said I still had WIGGLY UNSTEADY LEGS.....whatever that means.
I can run pretty well without almost falling if I just keep practicing.
Plus it makes my Mom mad when I run away...which is pretty fun to watch. "

LOVE this mare !  Desiree is our Alpha Mare with TONS of feather and LONG full mane.
This foal will have those traits.   And, of course, the tiny turned in ears and pretty head.

You might not be able to tell from these pictures, but he has a very cool white crescent moon between his eyes.

" I can't reach the green stuff.   How does she DO that ?"

A couple of " just born " pics  click HERE

Of course, with Winston as his Sire, Dartanian couldn't be anything BUT fabulous !
Winston is TOP PRODUCING STALLION
at the Gypsy Horse World Show under BOTH JUDGES !!
What a pedigree for this young boy !
