   So much for knowing most horses foal at night.  HA....Easter morning 10:20 am.
Maggie ( her Mom ) laid down and was clearly trying to have her foal.
But after 40 minutes and no bag breaking and no progress I got nervous and called the vet.
By the time he got here Maggie was up and eating grass as if nothing was happening.
Nice.....embarrass me and cost me a vet trip charge.
The vet said that as long as he was out he would palpate the mare and see if the baby was in the right position.
All was well.   He said I'd just have to wait a few more days.
Then he suggested we rinse her off her backside after sticking his hand up in her.
I told him I was planning on giving her a complete bath before the baby came anyway.
So he left and I brought her into the wash rack and had her good and soaped up.........
And her water broke in the wash rack !
AAAAAAAHHHHHHH............WAIT......I gotta rinse the soap off of you first !
I rinsed, she spewed water.  I quickly took her out in the grass.......
and immediately sweet Derby began her arrival.
